The Opening
Yoga for Us, BIPOC-Only Space
New Year’s Day, a heart-centered practice of intention, healing, joy, and inner child reconnection, facilitated by Marlene Boyette.
The Opening is a grounding, nourishing offering created specifically for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who want to begin the year feeling rooted, softened, and connected. This practice welcomes you back into your body, your breath, and the most loving parts of who you are, including your inner child.
Together we’ll move through a slow heart and hip opening yoga practice, explore music-led intuitive movement and play, then settle into guided meditation and journaling to support meaningful intention setting. We’ll close with a warm herbal tea ceremony, featuring heart-opening herbs like rose, tulsi, and lemon balm.
This is a BIPOC-only space rooted in care, affirmation, and community, a place where you can show up fully and be met with gentleness.
Bring: a yoga mat, a journal and pen, a tea mug, and a photo of yourself as a child / preteen / teen and / or an item that is connected to your childhood / youth.
